What the first days after application look like
In most well-matched applications, the flocculation process begins quickly after Metafloc is distributed. Within the first day or two, pond owners typically notice that water cloudiness is settling and water visibility is improving. By the end of the first week, the improvement is usually clearly visible in well-dosed applications on suitable turbidity problems.
The settling process may produce visible floc in the water column initially, a slightly different haze or color change, as particles aggregate before settling. This is a normal part of the process and not a sign that the treatment is failing.

How long results last and when re-treatment is needed
The durability of Metafloc results depends on what caused the turbidity or phosphorus problem in the first place. For ponds where the flocculated particles settle under stable conditions and external loading is controlled, results can last for months to years.
For ponds with ongoing high external inputs, internal phosphorus loading that continues to feed algae, or low-oxygen bottom conditions that can release bound phosphorus, follow-up treatment or a broader management program may be needed to maintain results.
